Questions, answered.
What does the Lift Engine actually do?
It reads only your file's container headers, rebuilds the movie header (moov) at the front of the file, rewrites every chunk offset to match, normalises the file type to MP4, optionally removes metadata, and verifies the result. The media data itself is passed through untouched.
Why is it so fast?
Nothing is decoded or re-encoded, and the media data is never copied in memory — the new file is assembled from slices of the original. A 500 MB file usually takes under a second.
Which files are accepted?
MP4, MOV and M4V with any codec. H.264 and HEVC get the best results; the health check tells you if something in your export should change.
My video lags on TikTok — what should I change?
Lag and stutter almost always come from a variable frame rate or a very large file. Export at a constant 60 fps, 1080p, and keep the file under ~100 MB where possible.
How are credits counted?
Cost is resolution + frame rate: 720p 2 · 1080p 3 · 1440p 5 · 4K 8, plus ≤30 fps 1 · 60 fps 3 · 120 fps 8. So 1080p·60 is 6 credits and 4K·120 is 16. Premium never pays. Failed jobs are refunded automatically.
